Armed robbers wearing panda onesies stormed a convenience store

Police are requesting residents check their bins

London CNN  —

Police are hunting for two men who carried out an armed robbery on a convenience store – while wearing panda onesies.

The two thieves entered the store in Lincolnshire, northern England, carrying what appeared to be a handgun, according to a police statement.

With panda head hoods covering their faces, the robbers then forced a female member of staff to give them money from the safe.

Police say the two men subsequently fled on foot at around 7.30pm Sunday.

The shopkeeper was left shaken, but not hurt after the incident, according to police.

“The offenders were believed to be wearing panda style onesies and we are keen to trace these items of clothing” said Sally Hewitt, a member of the Louth Rural Neighborhood Policing Team.

“Please can we ask that local residents check their bins and areas surrounding their property to see if any items of clothing which could have possibly been worn by the offenders have been discarded.”

Detectives also want to hear from retailers who may have sold the panda costumes to the armed bandits.
