Radio host Howie Carr mocked Elizabeth Warren

Trump has nicknamed Warren 'Pocahontas'

Bangor, Maine CNN  —

A conservative radio host opening for Donald Trump on Wednesday during a rally picked up on the billionaire’s criticism of Sen. Elizabeth Warren by putting his hand over his mouth and mimicking a stereotypical Native American war cry.

Howie Carr, a conservative Boston-area talk radio host who has interviewed Trump on his program several times, launched into a whooping cry after saying, “You know Elizabeth Warren, right?”

Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, has criticized Warren’s claim that she is part Native American by calling her “Pocahontas.” The line of attack has been met with heated criticism from Warren, the Democratic senator from Massachusetts who has been hailed as a hero of the progressive movement.

A message left with Trump’s campaign seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Carr spoke after Trump’s senior policy adviser Stephen Miller and before Maine Gov. Paul LePage, who introduced Trump.

Carr slammed Warren for her criticism of Trump and downplayed her popularity.

“Elizabeth Warren is running around. She’s saying, she’s talking about, ‘Donald Trump is a bad man.’”
