Klopp: "I don't think it's a penalty"

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was critical of referee Dr. Felix Brych for awarding Napoli a late penalty during his team's 2-0 defeat in Italy.

Dries Mertens converted an 83rd minute spot kick after Andrew Robertson was adjudged to have fouled Napoli's Jose Callejon inside the penalty area.

"I don't think it's a penalty," Klopp told BT Sport.

"What can I say, for me, it is clear and obvious no penalty. He jumps before any contact, we can't change that.

"We played a lot of good football but didn't finish it off. We controlled moments but had not enough chances in the end. We made decisions that were not right and have to accept the result. It was very often the final ball that was not right."

Hummels: Dortmund "played brilliantly"

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has been speaking after his side's 0-0 draw with Barcelona.

The German side had a penalty saved and created numerous other chances but were unable to find a way past Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

"We played brilliantly in the second half, and it feels a bit like we have lost two points," Hummels told Sky Germany.

"It is a tough group and we could have put ourselves in a good position with a win today."

FULL TIME: Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Barcelona

Dortmund will be left wondering how it failed to win this one after missing a plethora of chances, including a second half penalty.

A brilliant performance from Marc-Andre Ter Stegen denied the home side, the goalkeeper saving Marco Reus' second half spot kick, as well as producing a number of fine saves.

Julian Brandt hit the woodwork, while Jadon Sancho turned in another impressive performance.

Barcelona, buoyed by the introduction of Lionel Messi in the second half, will be pleased to have escaped with a point.

FULL TIME: Napoli 2-0 Liverpool

Not the start defending champion Liverpool had in mind but there can be few complaints as Napoli claim all three points with a 2-0 win.

A Dries Mertens penalty and a late goal from Fernando Llorente secured victory for the home side.

Liverpool, which lost all three away games in the group stage last season, had its chances but failed to find a way past a stubborn Napoli defense.
